Luis Azcona is a contemporary percussionist from Zaragoza currently living in Bern, Switzerland. He specialises in Sound Arts and Chamber Music.

A student of Brian Archinal at HKB, Luis bases his work on the exploration between poetry, sociology and politics. His aesthetic universe is situated between noise, post-percussion, the historical approach to contemporary music and a multi-disciplinary vision of the artistic experience.

It has premiered works by Alberto Bernal, Luciano Azzigotti, Voro García, Marina Picaporte, Ch. Spitzenstaetter, Wataru Mukai, Gemma Ragués and David Julián Carrillo. In 2022, it will premiere works by Helena Cánovas, Eduardo Valiente and Pietro Dossena, among others.

In 2021 he was a member of the Ensemble Modern (IEMA Klangspuren) and Ensemble Intercontemporain (Ulysses Ensemble) academies, and played at festivals such as Mixtur, Manifeste Paris, Klangspuren Schwaz, Anguiano Chamber Music Festival, Ensems Festival 2021, Festival After Cage, Foundation Royaumont, Musikagileak (Guggenheim Bilbao).

He is a member of the newly created collective Cuarto de Tono, and has been invited to play with international ensembles such as Schallfeld Ensemble (Graz) and Ensemble Lemniscate (Basel).
